Our Mission to make a positive impact in the Community.

Being largely raised by the hands of a hardworking, single mother of 5 on welfare wasn't exactly easy on my childhood. Hunger was a feeling we were all too familiar with. We didn't know what “summer camp” was. Never even heard of it until we saw it movies. Receiving bags of clothing from the Salvation Army as gifts was an exciting part of the holidays. Having bread of any kind at home was a luxury. My only wish for a birthday gift at the age of 13 was to spend the day driving around a nice neighborhood in the good part of town to look at houses, because it gave me the hope and motivation to one day fulfill my dreams of moving out of the ghet... not so good area we were in.

Fast forward to today. We did it. We made it out. Now we want to help underprivileged youth who are currently enduring similar childhood struggles or worse.

Before we get into the “how", here's a quick backstory:
I've volunteered at several churches and soup kitchens in my lifetime, and I've had the misfortune of witnessing other volunteers (usually ones who are in already well-off) keep all the best donations for themselves and their families, whether it be shoes, clothing, or food. I’ve also noticed some of them, “skim a little off the top" when it comes to handling monetary donations. It would burn me to my core to see these people, who were leaders in the community, take from the children and families who needed the help the most. But what could I do? I was just some kid and they were the ones in charge.

So here's the “how”:
We will ensure that every single cent allocated to the community fund will only be used for its exact intended purpose: to assist those in need. We will be providing items to underprivileged youth, such as school supplies, clothing and shoes. We would eventually love to set up a scholarship program to help students pursue a higher education, as well.

Thank you for supporting our mission to make a positive impact on those who need it most.
